Twitter Can’t Tweet

Kind of pissed of right now. I spent midnight till dawn trying to find a good mobile app for my Symbian phone that supports YM, Facebook and Twitter (the 3 social realms that I live in). I stumbled upon fring. It was perfect after seeing the screenshots. I downloaded it and tried YM. It worked like a charm. The Twitter and Facebook features are still in progress but it should be working. It should. But upon trying, I couldn’t login. Frustrated, I installed-uninstalled couple times but didn’t get any result.

After that, I did something really smart (sarcasm). I looked for an app better than fring. My search for a free mobile app that had what I wanted was in vain. Then I found out in one website that the Twitter API or whatever service that Twitter apps use is currently disabled because of the recent DDOS attack. Man! Bad night. That’s why my tweets from an SMS service and my Ping.fm tweets were all not working. Argh!

On the bright side, I learned a lot in terms of mobile phones and tweeting:

iPhone Twitter apps look really cool (most Symbian apps have crappy interfaces)
Twitter integration is still rare for IM apps but Facebook is supported in some apps
Pure Twitter apps are available (but again, most Symbian apps… you get the point)
